Abstract

This research explores the interconnection between self-awareness of risk factors associated with work-related health problems and the perception of firms' commitments among textile workers in Pakistan. Specifically, it examines the mediating role of perceived exposure compliance in these relationships. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 290 employees from various textile factories in Pakistan. The findings indicate that perceived exposure fully mediates the relationship between awareness of occupational hazards and worker health outcomes, as well as between firms' commitments and worker health outcomes. The study adopts the Health Belief Model (HBM) to theorize occupational health and safety (OH&S) practices, emphasizing the importance of evidence based OH&S interventions and adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, the research acknowledges its limitations and highlights the need for further studies to analyze the dynamics between integrative supply chain sustainability and competitive advantage across different industries and geographical contexts.
